What are ground spikes?

Ground spikes are 400mm galvanised steel spikes that secure your WoodBlocX structure to the ground when building on soft surfaces such as grass and soil.

Ground spikes are placed on the first layer of all WoodBlocX structures when building on soft ground and are also located in every buttress for added support.

Simply select 'Soft Ground' when ordering through our website to have ground spikes included with your kit.

Please refer to your layer-by-layer building instructions when building your design to see where to install ground spikes - you'll find these instructions attached to your 'order confirmation' email.

When building on hard ground such as tarmac, concrete or paving slabs - please select 'Hard Ground' when ordering through our website.

What are crop protectors?

WoodBlocX crop protectors are Ø16mm hollow steel rods with a natural rust finish which are used to create height-adjustable netted growing areas in raised beds (1200mm tall with a 40mm diameter sphere on top). Fixing brackets, adjustable collars and screws included per rod. We DO NOT supply netting.

Once installed, they enable you to grow safe in the knowledge that your plants and veggies are protected from all manner of garden pests!

The number of crop protectors you require for your size of raised bed will be automatically calculated for you on most of our product pages when you select 'Yes' during the 'Select Kit OPTIONS' step. You can also add crop protectors to your basket manually before checking out.

Each crop protector is £10 and we DO NOT supply netting. You can buy netting at most garden centres or DIY shops.

Crop protectors can be used to make fruit cages and netted vegetable patches. We recommend a crop protector in every corner of your raised bed. Larger raised beds will require a crop protector every 1500mm to make sure y

What is the width of the blocks?

WoodBlocX individual BlocX size

Each block has a width of 75mm (7.5cm).

From top to bottom each block is 100mm (10cm).

Please note: All WoodBlocX capping is 50mm (5cm) in height.

There are 5 different length sizes of WoodBlocX - the combination of blocks that you need to build your design will be worked out automatically for you.

Do your products work on uneven surfaces?

We recommend levelling bumps and lumps out before you build your WoodBlocX structure - it is extremely important that you build on a level and flat surface.

If you have a sloping garden our system is ideal to create terraces. Use our Free Design Service for this to ensure you get exactly what you need for your garden.
