How deep should I make my pond?

The correct depth for your pond all depends on what you plan to put in it!

If you are creating a 'fishless' wildlife pond with only pond plants - we'd recommend a pond height of 0.25cm to 0.35cm.

If you are building a pond for fish, it is very important to carefully research what depth is required for your species. We cannot advise on the exact size but would recommend a minimum pond height of between 0.45cm to 0.65cm.

Please note: Koi carp require much deeper pond depths in order to develop a healthy body shape and overwinter correctly. Please research the correct depth you need for this species.
